Overview  

The government of Saudi Arabia introduced four new Special Economic Zones (SEZs). Saudi Arabia’s SEZs are geographically defined areas that facilitate specific economic activities, such as investment, trade and employment, by providing competitive advantages and legislative frameworks that differ from the base economy. 

The government intends to also introduce a new service platform that will simplify the business license process for employers. 

What are the Changes?  

The government of Saudi Arabia introduced four new SEZs on 13 April 2023. The government introduced these zones with the intention of attracting further opportunities for employers in fast-growing sectors.
