Peru Introduces Visa Waivers for Nationals of Japan and Qatar

Key Points 

  • Peru introduced new visa exemption programs for travelers from Japan and Qatar at the start of July 2025 

Japan’s Visa Waiver Program  

Peru will implement new visa exemptions for business and tourism travelers from Japan and Qatar. 

  • As of 1 July 2025, nationals of Japan traveling for business purposes may enter Peru without a prior consular visa. The permitted stay is up to 183 days over the course of one year, whether in a single visit or multiple entries. 
  • As of 4 July 2025, nationals of Qatar holding an ordinary passport valid for at least six months are also exempt from consular visa requirements for tourism travel. The same 183-day stay limit applies across a 12-month period.
