New Zealand Opens New Parent Boost Visitor Visa

  • New Zealand’s new Parent Boost Visitor Visa, launched on 8 October 2025, allows eligible parents to stay for up to five years without frequent renewals 

Parent Boost Visitor Visa  

As of 8 October 2025, Immigration New Zealand has launched the Parent Boost Visitor Visa, allowing eligible parents of New Zealand citizens or residents to stay for up to five years.  

This visa offers a streamlined pathway for family reunification. Applicants must meet sponsorship, health and character criteria.  

It replaces the previous Parent and Grandparent Visitor Visa and supports longer-term visits without needing frequent renewals.
