Malaysia Updated Professional Visit Pass Position List

Key Point 

  • Malaysia has updated the list of eligible job titles for PVP applications under the ESD Online system 

Position List Realignment  

Effective 1 September 2025, Malaysia has implemented a revised list of eligible positions for Professional Visit Pass (PVP) applications. This update aims to streamline application processing and improve compliance with immigration regulations. 

Key changes include the reclassification of several previously accepted titles: 

Obsolete Title  Updated Classification 
Technical Consultant / Advisor / Consultant / Examiner  Technical Expert 
Visitor Lecturer / Visiting Professor / Invited Professor  Invited Lecturer 
Seminar Speaker / Course Speaker  Speaker 
Technical Trainer  Trainer 

Other titles such as Doctoral Fellow, Researcher, Student Under Practical Training, and Volunteer remain unchanged. 

Employers submitting PVP applications must use the updated position list starting 1 September 2025. Applications using obsolete titles may be rejected or delayed.
