Malaysia Expands Xpats Gateway Functionality for Employment Pass Prerequisites
Key Points
- Malaysia has upgraded the Xpats Gateway into a single-window platform that now includes key pre-application steps for Employment Passes
Malaysia’s Xpat Platform Updates for July 2025
Effective 1 July 2025, Malaysia enhanced its Xpats Gateway platform into a comprehensive, end-to-end single window for expatriate hiring, simplifying the application process for employers.
Employers can now manage key prerequisites for new Employment Pass (EP) and Professional Visit Pass (PVP) applications directly through the Xpats Gateway, including:
- Submission of Prior Approval applications to the Department of Labour Peninsular Malaysia (JTKSM) under Section 60K of the Employment Act 1955
- Entry and acknowledgement of MYFutureJobs advertisement details under the Social Security Organisation (PERKESO)
These changes aim to streamline processing and reduce the administrative burden associated with expatriate hiring procedures.
