Japan: Trial of Electronic Entry Kiosks

  • Japan introduced ten electronic kiosks at the Haneda airport to facilitate streamlined entry into the country for foreign nationals  

Overview 

The government of Japan will launch a trial electric entry pilot program at the Haneda Airport beginning 31 January 2024. As a result, electronic kiosks will be placed throughout the airport to facilitate streamlined entry for foreign nationals. The program will remain in place for two months, after which the government will determine plans to implement further kiosks throughout other airports.
