India Ended Paper Visas for Business Categories in January 2026

  • India stopped issuing paper visas for e‑B‑4 categories on 1 January 2026 and now requires Chinese nationals to submit all applications through the e‑visa platform.

E-B-4 Visa for Chinese Nationals  

India’s Embassy in Beijing stopped issuing paper visas for Production Investment Business Visa (e‑B‑4) categories on 1 January 2026. All applications must be submitted through the e‑visa platform.  

The e‑B‑4 visa is India’s Production Investment Business Visa for Chinese nationals traveling for short, business‑critical work such as installation, production support, IT ramp‑ups, training, supply‑chain development, plant setup or senior‑level management duties.
