Finland Updates Police and Security Service Fees for 2026

Identify Card and Passport Costs
Finland issued new decrees setting the 2026 fees charged by the Police and the Finnish Security Intelligence Service (Supo), effective from 1 January 2026 to 31 December 2026. The updated fee schedule introduces several notable changes for residents and applicants.
Key Changes for 2026
- Passport fees will decrease by EUR 7–9, depending on whether the application is submitted in person or electronically.
- EUR 48 for in‑person applications
- EUR 42 for electronic applications
- Identity card fees will also decrease by EUR 6–8, with 2026 prices set at:
- EUR 59 for in‑person applications
- EUR 53 for electronic applications
- The decrees also set updated fees for permits, licenses and security clearances handled by the Police and Supo, applicable throughout 2026.
The Ministry notes that these adjustments aim to keep service fees aligned with actual processing costs while maintaining accessible pricing for essential identity documents.
