China Introduces Visa‑Free Entry to Canada and the United Kingdom

  • China will extend unilateral visa‑free entry to ordinary passport holders from Canada and the United Kingdom (U.K.) beginning February 17, 2026. 

Visa‑Free Entry Expanded to Canada and the United Kingdom 

China will extend unilateral visa‑free entry to ordinary passport holders from Canada and the U.K.  beginning February 17, 2026, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.  

Eligible travelers may stay for up to 30 days for business, tourism, family or friend visits, exchanges or transit.

The policy is temporary and will remain effective until December 31, 2026.  

In addition, the government confirmed that it will continue to introduce more mutual visa-free travel agreements to promote cross‑border flows and strengthen bilateral cooperation.
