Canada: Temporary Suspensions of TFW Low-Wage Stream

  • Canada will suspend the processing of certain Temporary Foreign Worker applications submitted under the low-wage steam effective 3 September 2024  

Overview  

The government of Canada will suspend the processing of new Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) applications for the Temporary Foreign Worker (TFW) low-wage stream beginning 3 September 2024. These measures will apply in the Montréal economic region to applicants below $27.47 per hour and will remain in place for six months.
