Australia: Application Options for Partner Visas and Temporary Graduate Visas

  • Australia expanded options for partners of subclass 309 and 820 visas to apply within and outside of the country 

Overview  

Beginning 25 November 2023, the government of Australia will now accept Partner (Subclass 309 and 820) and Temporary Graduate (Subclass 485) visa categories submitted both within and outside of the country. Previously, Subclass 309 Partner applicants had to be outside Australia, and Subclass 820 and 485 applicants had to be inside. Applicants of the Subclass 309 Partner visa can now also independently seek a review of their application, mirroring the existing provision for Subclass 820 Partner visa applicants.    

What are the Changes?  

The government of Australia expanded options for partners of subclass 309 and 820 visas to apply within and outside of the country.
