Algeria has formally acceded to the Hague Apostille Convention, streamlining the legalization of public documents for international use. Following Presidential Decree No. 25-217 issued on August 4, 2025, the change is expected to take effect in early 2026.
Key Changes
- One-Step Legalization: Algerian documents will no longer require multi-stage consular processing. A single apostille will be accepted in other member countries.
- Streamlined Incoming Docs: Apostilled documents from abroad will be recognized in Algeria without additional embassy steps.
