2025 Diversity Visa Program Concludes
Key Point
- The U.S. Department of State has officially ended the 2025 Diversity Visa Program, emphasizing that selectees were only eligible for visas during the fiscal year ending September 30, 2025
2025 Diversity Visa Program
The 2025 Diversity Visa (DV) Program officially ended on September 30, 2025, marking the close of the fiscal year. The U.S. Department of State emphasized that individuals selected for the DV-2025 program were only eligible to receive a diversity visa between October 1, 2024, and September 30, 2025. U.S. law mandates this deadline and prohibits any extensions under any circumstances.
Selected applicants who failed to obtain a visa or adjust their status by the deadline lost eligibility under the 2025 Diversity Visa Program. The Department emphasized that it cannot carry over unused diversity visa numbers to the next fiscal year.
The update reminds future selectees to act promptly and complete all necessary steps within the designated timeframe. The Department also encourages applicants to monitor official channels for updates on upcoming DV programs.
