USCIS Shifts Text Alert Number from GOV-311 to USAIMM for Case Updates

USCIS Text Updates Phone Number Change

The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has announced a change in its text alert system. Starting July 1, 2025, applicants will receive official SMS updates from the number 872466 (USAIMM, short for “USA Immigration”), replacing the previous 468-311 (GOV-311) number.

For applicants who have opted to receive electronic notifications about their cases by filing Form G-1145, USCIS recommends that they save the new number in their contact lists to avoid mistakenly identifying official messages as spam.

Additionally, USCIS cautions the public to remain vigilant against potentially fraudulent activity or scam messages. The agency does not solicit sensitive personal details, financial information, or login credentials via text message. Individuals receiving suspicious communications are encouraged to report them through the official USCIS website.
