United Kingdom Travelers to Use German eGates Under New Agreement

The UK announced a new agreement with Germany to phase in eGate access for British travelers, starting with frequent visitors by end of August 2025 and expanding to all UK nationals once Germany completes technical upgrades under the EU’s Entry/Exit System.
Germany joins Bulgaria, Portugal and the Czech Republic in granting eGate access to UK citizens, with Estonia expected to follow in 2026.
