New Fees for Emergency Travel Documents and Passports
The United Kingdom (UK) introduced new fees for emergency travel documents (ETDs) and emergency passports on 9 April 2025.
ETDs allow a traveler to travel internationally in urgent situations when a British passport cannot be used. Typically, it is valid for a single trip or a return journey. The updated fee now covers the courier service for delivering the ETD, which was previously charged as a separate expense.
