The Netherlands 2026 Salary Standards for Highly Skilled Talent
Key Point
- The Netherlands will introduce new salary standards for highly skilled foreign national workers beginning 1 January 2026
Highly Skilled Migrant Salary Standards
Beginning 1 January 2026, the Netherlands will introduce new salary standards for highly skilled migrants. The IND will publish the updated figures on its “Required Amounts – Income Requirements” page.
Applicants must meet the salary standard that applies on the date of their application or notification.
When submitting an application, the date of application determines the salary standard that applies. When an application is submitted in December 2025 and the new contract starts on 1 February 2026, the 2025 salary standard applies. However, if an applicant changes employers, the relevant salary standard is the one in effect on the date the new employment contract begins. For example, if an applicant reports a job change in December 2025 and the new contract commences on January 1, 2026, the 2026 salary standard applies.
The new requirements have not yet been published but are expected to be published in December 2025.
