South Africa: Reduced Application Requirements for Visa and Residency Permits

  • South Africa eased application requirements for foreign nationals applying for permanent residency 

Overview  

The government of South Africa reduced certain application requirements for foreign nationals applying for temporary or permanent residency in-country. As a result, applicants will no longer be required to provide radiological or medical reports for any visa or permanent residency applications. 

In addition, the government will now only require police clearance certificates (PCC) for the last five years, from the country in which the applicant resided for 12 months or more.  

Applicants who seek to change status and have been in south Africa for the last five years will only be required to submit a PCC for South Africa. 

What are the Changes?  

The government of South Africa eased application requirements for foreign nationals applying for residency. As a result, applicants no longer required  radiological or medical reports when applying for a visas or residency permit.
