Serbia Ends Employer Incentives for Newly Settled Individuals
Key Points
- Serbia has terminated its program that provided incentives to employers hiring newly settled individuals, citing increased demand and budgetary constraints
Government Adjusts Employment Policy Amid Rising Applications
On 17 June 2025, Serbia ended its program that gave financial incentives to employers hiring newly settled individuals. The decision was made in response to a surge in applications and the growing number of eligible individuals, making it difficult to plan future budgetary commitments.
Despite this change, employers can still benefit from tax relief, including a reduced salary tax base for newly settled taxpayers, as outlined in the Law on Personal Income Tax.
