Saudi Arabia: Electronic Visa Options for Certain Foreign Nationals

Overview  

The government of Saudi Arabia will replace visa stickers on beneficiary’s passports with electronic visas (evisa) that contain a scannable QR code. Initially, the evisa will be rolled out to nationals of the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Egypt, Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, and the Philippines. The new procedure is part of digitizing the ministry’s consular services, including work permits, residence permits and visit visas. 

What are the Changes?  

The government of Saudi Arabia will replace visa stickers with evisa options for foreign nationals located in seven different countries across the Middle East region. According to the government announcement, this change is part of the government’s effort to digitize the immigration process and create better consular services across the globe.
