UAE Golden Visa Consular Services Expanded
Key Point
- The UAE launched dedicated consular services for Golden Visa holders during GITEX Global 2025
Golden Visa Consular Support
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has formally launched enhanced consular support for holders of the 10-year Golden Visa. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) and the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) announced this initiative during GITEX Global 2025 as a joint effort.
Key Provisions:
- Emergency Consular Assistance Abroad: Golden Visa holders are now eligible for support from UAE embassies and consulates while traveling internationally.
- Electronic Return Document: Issued to Golden Visa holders in cases of lost or damaged passports, enabling re-entry to the UAE.
- 24/7 Emergency Hotline: Direct access to MoFA’s call center for urgent consular support.
- Repatriation Services: Golden Visa holders who pass away outside the UAE can receive assistance with returning their mortal remains.
This expansion marks the first time non-citizens have been granted access to UAE consular services abroad. It reflects the UAE’s broader strategy to enhance services for long-term residents and reinforce its position as a global destination for skilled talent.
