Norway announced that Ukrainian men between 18 and 60 will no longer qualify for temporary collective protection, citing the need for a migration system that is “controlled, sustainable and fair.”

The government noted a recent increase in arrivals of young Ukrainian men and emphasized that Norway has already received the highest number of Ukrainians in the Nordic region.

As a result, the government noted that employers may experience stricter eligibility pathways for Ukrainian male nationals seeking work authorization tied to protection status.
