Denmark Updates Income Threshold
Key Point
- Denmark has released updated income statistics effective 1 October 2025, which determine the minimum salary requirements for various work permit schemes
Updated Pay Requirements
Denmark uses annual income statistics to set minimum salary thresholds for foreign nationals applying under specific work schemes. The new figures, published in September 2025, apply from 1 October 2025, and affect the following:
- Fast Track Scheme (pay limit track)
- Pay Limit Scheme
- Supplementary Pay Limit Track under Fast Track
- Job Change Notification Requirements
- Permanent Residence Applications (income-based criteria)
Positive List Wage Update
Denmark also released updated occupation-specific wage statistics for the Positive List for Skilled Work, which covers jobs facing labor shortages. These new benchmarks affect:
- Residence and work permit applications under the Positive List
- Job change notifications for permit holders
- Permanent residence applications based on income
These thresholds are based on average gross salaries in Denmark and are adjusted annually. Employers must ensure that foreign nationals meet the updated pay requirements when applying for or renewing permits.
