Canada Helping Refugees & Strengthening the Workforce
Canada extended the validity of the Economic Mobility Pathways Pilot (EMPP) through 31 December 2025 to further assist skilled refugees and help fill labor gaps. According to the government, EMPP provides safe, legal immigration pathways for refugees with skills that match Canadian employer needs. Since its launch, 970 individuals have been admitted, with over 30% working in health care.
The job offer stream will accept up to 950 applications in 2025, allowing more skilled refugees to secure permanent residence and contribute to essential sectors like health care, construction and food service.
This initiative aligns with Canada’s broader immigration strategy to boost economic growth and support newcomers
