Malaysia Introduces Online Appeal Process for Rejected Work Passes

  • Starting 2 May 2025, Malaysia will let ESD-registered companies appeal rejected work pass applications online, replacing manual submissions 

Overview  

On 2 May 2025, Malaysia will implement a new process allowing companies registered with the Expatriate Services Division (ESD) to submit appeal applications for rejected Employment Pass (EP) and Professional Visit Pass-Expert (PVP) applications directly through the ESD online portal. 

Once an application is officially rejected, the “Appeal” button will become available in the system, streamlining the submission process for employers. 

Key Details: 

  • Appeals must be submitted within six months of the rejection date. 
  • No refunds will be issued for submitted appeals. 
  • Manual submissions via email or at MYXpats Centre will no longer be accepted starting 1 May 2025.
