Temporary Protected Status Termination for Syrian Nationals
Following Secretary Kristi Noem’s September 19, 2025, announcement, the Department of Homeland Security has initiated the termination process for Syria’s Temporary Protected Status designation. Syrian nationals have 60 days to voluntarily depart the U.S., with incentives including a free flight and $1,000 exit bonus. Those who remain past the deadline will be subject to arrest, deportation and a permanent ban on reentry.
