Australia Expands Accepted English Language Tests for Visa Applicants

- Effective 7 August 2025, Australia has expanded its list of accepted English Language Tests for visa purposes from five to nine providers
Expanded English Language Test Types
Australia expanded its list of accepted English Language Tests that certain foreign nationals must submit as part of the visa application process. As a result, applicants now have more flexibility and test options when demonstrating English proficiency.
The change aims to ensure consistent scoring across test providers.
Tests taken on or before 6 August 2025 under the previous system will remain valid for certain visa types and timeframes.
Important Notes
- Applicants must ensure the test they take is valid for the visa type and meets the required score thresholds.
- The Skills in Demand Visa (Subclass 482) will retain current ELT requirements until 13 September 2025.
