Four Tactics for Building an Immigration Policy

When you’re courting talent from other countries, or trying to appeal to visa or green card holders already in the United States, there’s one way to gain an edge over competitors: your immigration policy.

Take it from global candidates themselves. In Global Talent Perspectives 2016, a study commissioned by Envoy and conducted by Harris Poll, 700 visa and green card holders (expats) described what attracts them to companies, and equally important, what keeps them there. Topping the list was a company’s green card policy: 70 percent of visa holders said that a company’s green card policy is very or extremely important to their decision to work there. Plus, 60 percent were offered an immigration-related perk package, which typically included transportation, housing, travel or dependent visa/green card applications.
