Every day of SHRM 2016, Envoy CMO Jamie Gilpin will blog her thoughts from the conference. Here’s the latest update.
Day 1 of SHRM and I am feeling…
SHRM officially kicked off yesterday with the general session from Alan Mulally and Mike Rowe. Then the SHRM Exposition opened. The expo hall can sometimes be an exhausting place — there are so many vendors with their value propositions, games, giveaways and contests. But it can also be exhilarating, with conversations about the future and new opportunities for true partnerships. This year, there seems to be a lot of the latter.
We may be serious about simplifying the immigration process but we don’t take ourselves too seriously. We’re having fun at booth 637, giving away lip balm, Chicago-style popcorn and hula hoops. Yep, hula hoops.
Global immigration requires a lot of jumping through hoops. We are trying to remove the unnecessary ones through technology and people. So instead of jumping through hoops, we decided to hula hoop instead, giving SHRM attendees the chance to win four $500 airline tickets! Oh, and attendees get to keep the hoop. Hopefully it’s the last one they jump through.
We also got to talk about what’s next in HR and in particular, immigration and international workforce management. We showed our latest and largest product release, which has new features that enable management of the entire immigration program from visa application through tracking, and managing the company’s expat workforce.
Excited about today’s sessions. If I can take a break from the booth, I think these look great:
If you are at SHRM, make sure you stop by and see us! Hula hoop or take a demo of our platform. We will announce our first winner of the airline vouchers this morning. It’s simple to enter — just post a pic of you with the hashtags #nomorehoops and #SHRM16. We will choose a random poster at the end of each day. Happy SHRM!
